Personalized support for small and start-up charities.
I believe in the power of the charitable community to change lives. I have seen teen parents achieve educational and career success, diabetic patients avoid life-threatening complications, and a health system improve care for the under-served. I have seen children with special needs learn to walk and talk and make friends.
The work we do is beautiful. And fulfilling. And hard. This journey is best made with an experienced, caring guide.
Thank you for visiting Thrive South. I have over 25 years experience in the nonprofit sector, working in every role from case manager to development director to CEO. Over the years, I have had the good fortune to be instrumental in the start-up phase of many charities, either as founder, early employee, or consultant. I have loved (almost) every minute of my career serving others (I had two bad days, but just two in the last 27 years....). I began consulting in 2018 specifically to help small and start-up charities see new levels of success. In addition to my time working in the charitable sector, I earned my Master's of Social Work degree with an emphasis in nonprofit planning and administration from the University of Alabama.
Testimonials "Kimberly worked with me on board training, foundational research, general fundraising activities, and on techniques to improve my grant writing skills. Kimberly is amazingly thorough in her teaching methods and explains things remarkably well. She is friendly, patient, encouraging, and very easy to work with." Tanya, Mississippi's Toughest Kids Foundation
"The retreat was great. Everything was right on point and we learned a lot. Kim did a great job facilitating. I think we needed another half day. We had great participation from the board members. If I could change one thing is that we make/add time to answer all of the questions that the board members had... I would love to have Kim back in the future for our next retreat. Thank you for the recommendation." Gloria, We2gether Creating Change
